The Doctoral Consortium at IEEE CoG 2025 provides PhD students with a unique opportunity to present and discuss their research in a collaborative and supportive environment. Participants will engage with peers and receive valuable feedback from established researchers in the field. The consortium will feature a roundtable discussion, facilitating in-depth conversations and fostering meaningful academic exchanges.
The Doctoral Consortium is designed primarily for PhD students who have begun their research, are in the process of preparing their dissertation proposals, or have recently submitted them. The event is particularly relevant for students considering a career in academia and seeking to refine their research within a broader scholarly community.
To apply, students must submit a non-anonymized paper (2–4 pages, excluding references) that provides a structured overview of their research. The paper should clearly define the research problem, outline the objectives, present the state of the art, describe the methodological approach, and highlight any preliminary findings along with the anticipated trajectory for completing the dissertation. The submission should demonstrate both the scholarly significance and the potential contributions of the research.
In addition to the paper, applicants must submit:
A CV
A brief statement explaining how participation in the consortium will benefit them and outlining specific questions they wish to discuss (general or research-related)
All materials should be combined into a single PDF file for submission.
Each accepted paper must be presented by the student, ensuring active participation in the consortium. As part of the program, students will introduce themselves and their PhD project during the introductory session, using a single slide, with a maximum duration of 60 seconds. Additionally, they will deliver a 10-minute presentation of their research, followed by a discussion, and present a poster during the main conference poster session.
Submission Process
Submissions in https://easychair.org/conferences/?conf=cog2025
All paper submissions should follow the recommended IEEE conference author guidelines. MS Word and LaTeX templates can be found at: https://www.ieee.org/conferences_events/conferences/publishing/templates.html
All submissions will undergo a peer-review process, evaluated based on relevance, originality, clarity, and technical quality.
Registered Doctoral Consortium papers will not be included in the book of proceedings as archival publications or in the Digital Library, ensuring they remain free of copyright.
A Best PhD Project Award will be conferred upon an outstanding doctoral research paper, selected based on a combination of review scores and feedback from the Advisory Board. The recipient of the award will be formally announced during the conference closing session and will receive an official certificate, signed and stamped, in recognition of their achievement. Additionally, their accomplishment will be highlighted through a dedicated announcement on the conference webpage. This award aims to acknowledge and promote excellence in doctoral research, providing emerging scholars with a platform to gain visibility within the academic community.
PhD students are encouraged to take advantage of this opportunity to refine their research, expand their academic networks, and gain valuable insights from leading experts in the field.
